In a world where the ancient and powerful Holy Grail holds the key to granting any desire, the struggle for control has been ongoing for centuries. The Holy Grail War, a brutal battle royale, has been waged between magi and their summoned Heroic Spirits, known as Servants. The war has left a trail of destruction and chaos in its wake, with only the last pair standing able to claim the Grail.

However, the third war ended abruptly when the Grail vanished, leaving the world in a state of uncertainty. Years later, the Yggdmillennia clan suddenly announces its possession of the Grail and declares war on the Mage's Association. The Association responds by sending 50 of its most elite magi to retrieve the Grail, but only one returns, bearing a message of war from Yggdmillennia.

As the conflict escalates, the Holy Grail War takes on a new form. Yggdmillennia and the Mage's Association will each deploy seven master-Servant pairs to the battlefield, with the side that loses all its combatants first forfeiting the Grail. As the 14 masters assemble and summon their Servants, the magical world holds its breath in anticipation of the Great Holy Grail War, a battle that will decide the fate of the Grail and the balance of power in the world.
