Fast-forward to the present, we meet Shiki Ichinose, a free-spirited young man with a passion for guns. However, his carefree existence is disrupted when he's attacked and rescued by his adoptive father, Tsuyoshi. As they flee from their pursuers, Tsuyoshi reveals a shocking truth: Shiki is a descendant of the demonic Oni, while Tsuyoshi and their attacker are from the lineage of Momotarou, the legendary warrior who once opposed the Oni.

In the aftermath of a brutal battle, Tsuyoshi sacrifices himself to protect Shiki, leaving him devastated and struggling to come to terms with his newfound heritage. As Shiki awakens to the power of his Oni blood, he discovers that it grants him incredible strength, but at the cost of losing control.
